Centauria Hotel is a two star hotel that affords the most convenient overnight stay for the tourists visiting Uda Walawe National Park famous for its large herds of Elephants. .

Centauria Hotel is located at Embilipitiya 177km away from Colombo. Embilipitya is the town closest to Uda Walawe National Park. Centauria Hotel that nestles on the very bank of Chandrika Lake, with its surrounding greenery of Suriya Kanda mountain range brings about enchanting landscape that inspire nature lovers and eco tourists. The garden of Centauria Hotel is home to mongoose land monitor lizards, squirrels, kingfishers and herons.

The total of fifty rooms are led by four new lakeside cottages, comprising eight rooms in total, with a/c and more modern furnishings, which are highly recommended. All rooms comprise of balconies, kitchen area with fridge, small table and ironing boards. Bathrooms are much superior to the main wing of the hotel. The main wing consists of 28 standard a/c rooms and 14 luxury a/c rooms, so rated because they are more spacious. All have balconies overlooking the lake, satellite TV, phone and en-suite bathrooms with shower (five luxury rooms have a bath).

The park with sprawling vegetation of a bush jungle is abound with wildlife and birdlife: deer, monitor lizards and crocodiles and numerous species of bird Visiting the Elephant Transit Camp just adjoining the National Park, especially during the feeding hours is an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed. The government funded project of Elephant Transit camp has launched an Elephant Sponsorship Programme that enables the guests to contribute towards the conservation of elephant population of Sri Lanka.
